Sal Geraci is making a difference in his local community. We are proud to report he and his wife Karen, have received the 2017 Special Olympics Illinois’ Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award.

Sal, Karen and Special Olympics athlete Tory, were recognized for their contributions before the Summer Games opening ceremony June 9 at Illinois State University.

They have served as volunteers for the organization’s North Suburban Cook district for 16 years. Capitalizing on his work experience at Modagrafics, Sal handles logistics at Special Olympics events such as the Palatine Polar Plunge, plus raises funds and in-kind donations. Karen is part of the district’s event management team and has been instrumental in developing a family committee.
